Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas: a woman asked whether she could perform Hajj on behalf of her elderly father who could not sit firmly on a mount. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ replied: “Yes, perform Hajj on his behalf.” (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim). Scholars explain that this principle also applies to Umrah.
